Today's Mutuals play base ball (yes, two words)

by the rules of different years of the 19th century.

The club prides itself on historical accuracy and uses replica equipment

and replicas of the actual uniforms worn by the  1870 Mutual Base Ball Club of New York.

This means wooden bats and no gloves!

The Club was established in 1999 and is made up of experienced 19th century

ballists as many have played for years at the Old Time Base Ball League at

Old Bethpage Village Restoration on Long Island.

The club travels across the country demonstrating the roots of our National Pastime and

is ever willing to play by any year. The club is available for your event and can even suit up

your players in authentic gear and teach them how to play 19th century base ball.
